I never realized I had high blood pressure before. I only started seeing a doctor regularly about a year ago, and he is the one who diagnosed me with it. He put me on medication right away, telling me how fortunate it was that I went there to seek treatment. I had actually only gone there for a physical to get a job, but I do feel blessed that I found out. It was not long ago that I decided to look into traditional medicine treatment to see if there was a way to treat this without medication.
I don’t have anything against the doctor who prescribed it to me, and I am very thankful he was so reactive to my blood pressure issues. I was at a dangerous point with it, and the medication did help to bring it under control. However, I did not want to be on medication for the long term, and every indication showed I would be unless I found another way to get this under control. When I started looking online for some help, I saw where acupuncture has a really good history of helping people maintain good blood pressure.
I figured I had nothing to lose, and I did like how this was more of a natural remedy than a medicinal one. My main concern was if there were any side effects or complications that could arise from this treatment method. When I saw that there was not, I made an appointment with a local acupuncturist. I stayed on my medication at first, but then the numbers started getting even better so my doctor weaned me off of it slowly. The final verdict is that I am still getting acupuncture on a regular basis, and my blood pressure numbers are perfect without taking any type of medication.
